Gipsy 2nd - Left side by blue-sheep Gipsy 2nd - Left side by blue-sheep
First : Gipsy is the french name for the Itsy Bitsy spider x]
don't take it wrong.

Second : I kinda know spiders have 3 segments... I obviously spent time watching pics and searching for informations (I guess). But each tiny tiny spider is like 5mm long, and I made... a lot.
So. I know they look like ticks.

So here's the new finished version of : [link]

Who died unfortunately ...

Mandibles and fangs are still missing.

It's mesmerising, though grotesque. The shoulder really skeeves me out though. Not that it looks bad, it's just gross. It's an excellent piece.

no offense, but you've actually made him covered in ticks, not spiders. they are still arachnids, but spiders have 3 segments, these just have the head attached to the abdomen.

he has wolf spider eyes :D

Lol yeah I know I kinda spent days watching spiders pics. And ? x]
Have you ever try to make tiny tiny 2 segments thingy like this ? :D
So eriously, 3 segments...

lol i realize it, but having the legs attached to the abdomen makes them look like ticks, rather than spiders who have their legs attached at the thorax, giving them that spider shape. im probably the only one that would notice, since i tend to catch spiders a lot.

I know this an older piece, but I wanted to vindicate the artist a bit. Spiders do not have 3 sections but 2: an abdomen and a Cephalothorax (combination of head and thorax). And it's the Cephalothorax where the legs are attached, as accurately depicted in the sculpture! Amazing work, even if it is 3 years old :)

Very fascinating, the themes in this sculpture are thrilling to ponder. The creation of the torso from the spiders, and the twisted mutation of the man's face into that of an arachnid of some sort, This all speaks to me personally of the urge to manipulate the self, to transfer from individuality and bend to the will of the hideous masses. Perhaps this was designed to be just another bizarre image, but to me it speaks deeper.

On another note, I particularly like how you transferred the look and feel of a spiders head to a man's with the placement of those eyes. The organic unevenness of his face accentuates this spider-like aspect, and overall brings the entire piece home.

well done, and certainly deserving of a Daily Deviation.
